This was my first drawing trying to create a picture rather than an illustration for my board games.  It represents the first major change in my approach to Celtic Art, I was deliberately trying to use this art form as an entity in itself.  The picture itself is roughly A3 in size, and some of the detail is pretty minute.  Nowadays I work on a larger scale in order to fit this in – just one of the many lessons I have learnt.  The inner panels on the arms of the cross are from the “Collieburn” and “Glammis” Stones.  This design appears in George Bain with a note saying “Multiples may be joined”, a challenge, so I did.  The centre is a Zoomorphic design (I forget the source), which I would improve on now that I have gained experience.
