I have always loved the form of the spirals that are used in the manuscripts and this one comes from the Book of Kells.  I added the border as it seemed to make the picture itself more complete.  The grouping of spirals in this way seems to hold a magic all of its own.  It is very organic in the way that the spirals twist around themselves. If the paths through the spirals are followed then you can see that they all communicate with each other.  This aspect of the path of life fascinates me and later on it inspires me more and more.  When I received my copies of the book I noticed that one of the other artists who contributed had also used this grouping but in a totally different way.  This illustrates that every person has their own originality and validity to add to the richness of life.
