The three drawings for Pwyll came as a direct consequence of being published for the first time. I thought I had a good idea for a book for the future and that I could create a modern version of the stories from the Mabinogion and decorate it in a traditional style but with a modern twist. Out of a love for these wonderful stories I also wanted to make these more accessible to more people by simplifying the language as the translations that I could find were in somewhat antiquated language. Unfortunately for me when I approached the publisher with the first three pages they informed me that there was a new translation soon to be published by someone else. Also people had published similar style books and they proved not to sell very well. I decided to call it a day on this project as enough effort had been put in and I was only too well aware of the number of subsequent pages that would have to be drawn.
